Key vote coming

Today Sen. Harry Reid will release the Senate's version of health care reform.
Many of the same items in the House bill(already approved) are replicated though the specific details are different. Exchanges, employer mandates and other items are still present.
The first vote will come within the next 3 days by rule--which is simply a vote to determine if the Senate wants to consider the bill. The bill will need 60 votes.
Note this is not passage--but simply an agreement to start debate and the amendment process. We fully expect the 60 votes to accumulate so that the process continues.
From here it will be 4-6 weeks of partisan discussion and procedural moves.
Their goal will be to vote just prior to Christmas, from there a merging of the House and Senate versions with approval of the final product in each chamber just before the State of the Union address in late January.
More to come...
